Lisbon located on seven hills at the mouth of the Tagus river is the capital , economic and cultural centre of Portugal . It is divided into five zones : Centro Historico, Centro , Ocidental , Oriental and Norte. Each zone is divided also into 24 parishes. Most popular parishes are : Baixa , Alfama , Belem, Estrela , Chiado , Bairro Alto .....
Best time to visit : May to August are popular but more expensive. November to February , Autumn months , the prices are cheaper for the visitors.

Historical Buildings:
- Baixa
- Palacio Foz: The Foz Palace, or more correctly Palacio Castelo Melhor is constructed between 18th and the middle of 19th century.

- Alfama
- St. George's Castle ( Castelo de Sao Jorge ) : Built by the Muslims in the middle of the eleventh century. Conquered by Portuguese
in 1147 . It became royal palace by the kings of Portugal in the 13th century.

- National Pantheon ( Panteao Nacional ) :Construction started in 1682 and finished in 1966. Fascinating
interior paved in colored marble, its giant dome and beautiful view over the river and the city make this historical building attractive .
- Roman Theatre Museum (Museu do Teatro Romano )

- Belem
- Torre de Belem (Belem Tower): Tower is a famous symbol of Lisbon. Built in 16.century as a fortress. It is used later as a prison. UNESCO World Heritage site.
- Mosteiro dos Jeronimos: Gothic Manueline style monastery built in 16th century. UNESCO World Heritage site

- Estrela
- Palacio de Sao Bento.
- Statue to Afonso de Albuquerque.
Attractions :
- Tagus River
- Ponte 25 de Abri ( Bridge of April 25 ) : Built in 1966 it connects Lisbon with the Setubal peninsula. It is the sister bridge of the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge
- Ponte Vasco da Gama: It is the longest bridge in Europe (including viaducts), and ninth longest in the world, with a total length of 17.2 km
- Cristo Rei Statue: Built in 1959 in in Almada, The statue of Christ the King which overlooks Lisbon is similar to Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio
- Baixa
- Praca do Comercio: The most popular plaza of Lisbon. It is popular with King Josef I statue and the arch which is a tribute to the explorer Vasco da Gama. It is also an excellent area for shopping
- Rossio station: Completed in 1890, the station is an attractive building with its Manueline style facade. It connects Lisbon to Sintra
- Chiado and Bairro Alto
- Santa Justa elevator: Built in 1902, Santa Justa elevator is the only vertical lift in Lisbon. It was classified as a National Monument. It gives the possibility to watch the view of Baixa.

- Jardim Zoologicor: A zoo with exotic animals
- Parque das Nacoes
- Oceanarium :One of the biggest Oceanarium of Europe. It is located in the area built for World Expo in 1998

- Science Faculty Botanical Garden :Built in 19th century. The garden is popular with multiple and rare species and its labyrinth.
